Siliken begins operations in the USA

2008/07/03. The renewable energy company begins in San Diego

The renewable energy company, Siliken, has begun operations in the USA under the name Siliken Renewable Energy. The company recently inaugurated a solar panel production plant in San Diego, California, that will produce approximately 4MW of power during 2008.

Apart from presenting its manufacturing and direct sales activities in the North American market, Siliken will market turn key projects for end clients by means of strategic alliances and purchases.

This step into the California market is part of the company’s international market and vertical integration strategy. The aim is to enter the competitive USA market and consolidate its presence in California in order to take on new projects in other states.

Located on the southwestern coast of the USA, California has a population of 38 million and a surface area of 410,000 Km2. This makes it the most populated state in the US and the third largest (after Alaska and Texas).

California is a significant economic power in itself, pioneer and leader in numerous industrial sectors, such as aeronautics, space technology, computer technology, electronics and the medical industry. California’s GDP is similar to that of France (2.15 trillion dollars).

In spite of the absence of regulation for electricity production fees, as is found in several European countries, the legal framework is favorable for solar panel installations. The weather conditions are ideal for solar panel installations and this state has the highest degree of social awareness regarding renewable energies and sustainable development
