Siliken launches two new 3.7- and 5-kW wind turbines

Nov. 15, 2009. High efficiency and low maintenance

The renewable energies company, Siliken, through the company Siliken Wind, has launched two new wind turbine models onto the market, the SW 3.5 and the SW 4.3, with 3.7 and 5 kW of power. These two new machines join the current 1- and 2-kW machines already on the market.

These new wind turbine models combine high efficiency with low maintenance due to an innovative design that reduces the number of system components while maintaining the system’s capacity.

The two new models, like their 1- and 2-kW older brothers, have the same down-wind configuration, thus eliminating the need for a wind vane and other means of orientation. This system, together with a Softstall control –a novel technique that allows decreasing the quantity of wind energy that the machine receives when the nominal operating values are exceeded– allows the wind turbine to reduce noise, mechanical wear and vibrations on the machine.

As with Siliken’s other wind turbine models, these machines are especially designed to be connected to the power grid, for which they are supplied with the necessary inverter and control panel for perfect operation.
