SILICON PURIFICATION
Siliken Chemicals is a subsidiary company of SILIKEN S.A. The company is focused on the production, sale and distribution of Trichlorosilane (the main chemical precursor used to produce solar grade silicon for the electronics and solar power industries) and polycrystalline silicon (the raw material used in the solar industry to manufacture solar cells).
As a branch of SILIKEN S.A., Siliken Chemicals was founded in 2006 for the following purposes:
- To cover the whole value chain in the solar industry.
- To provide SILIKEN customers and partners with the highest quality polycrystalline silicon (Polysilicon) and to be a source of Trichlorosilane for customers not fully integrated in the Polysilicon production process.
Since its establishment, a team of young, skilled professional engineers with over 20 years of experience in the chemical industry has conceived and designed the first phase of a Trichlorosilane and Polysilicon Plant for Siliken Chemicals. The plant, located in Casas Ibáñez, Albacete, was the first in Spain and was operational by the end of 2008. The final plant design and engineering has allowed SILIKEN CHEMICALS to achieve high levels of production flexibility. It also allows SILIKEN CHEMICALS to rapidly increase capacity and adapt to market demands.
As a subsidiary company of SILIKEN S.A, and by taking advantage of the other subsidiary companies in the SILIKEN group, SILIKEN CHEMICALS is always aware of the trends and changes that occur in the solar business. Feedback from the SILIKEN group and from customers allows SILIKEN CHEMICALS to maintain the highest quality and safety standards. Likewise, it allows us to be flexible and adapt to customer needs, it allows us to be cost competitive in comparison with other players in the polysilicon market, and it ultimately allows us to offer our customers the best service.
