Human Resources Policy

With the objective of favouring a work-home life balance, whenever the work of the position will allow, we have a flexible working hours policy. In turn, we are working on the creation of balance plans to help achieve a positive balance between work and private life.

Business excellence is one of the main values of SILIKEN which is supported by, among other elements, the talent of its employees and their professional development, as well as by the consolidation of a company culture that attracts and retains the best professionals, facilitating commitment and motivation in order to achieve business objectives.

SILIKEN’s Human Resources policy is based on the following principles:
• Policies for selection and internal promotion based on the merit and skills of the candidate.
• Maintaining working conditions based on equal opportunities and anti-discrimination, freedom of association, salaries consistent with market conditions and respect for the balance between work and home life.
• Labour relations based on principles of physical and ethical integrity and Human Rights.
• The promotion of talent and the motivation of human capital.
• Training as a fundamental instrument for improving skills and providing professional development for employees.

In 2007, we increased our staff by 45%, reaching a total of 550 employees.

Personnel with permanent contracts represent approximately 60% of the total staff. The number of young people in the company results in an average staff age of 35.

Equality Plan
In the Human Resources department we are actively working on the creation of an Equal Opportunities Plan, which will begin with a diagnostic study of the current situation. Based on this study, an ordered set of measures will be proposed by the Business Committee to guarantee equal opportunities within our company. Among other actions, these will include specific measures on issues relating to access to employment, professional classification, promotion and training, pay, organisation of work time and the prevention of sexual harassment and gender-specific harassment.

• Social Integration of Disabled People Act (LISMI)
In accordance with the principles established in our Human Resources Policy, at SILIKEN we are committed to the integration of disadvantaged groups and to active compliance with the Social Integration of Disabled People Act (LISMI). Specifically on matters related to accessibility, the SILIKEN headquarters in Paterna has been designed to remove any architectural barriers. Moreover, we are working on the implementation of active policies for the employment integration of this group within our company.

International cooperation projects
SILIKEN management is committed to giving part of the profits obtained from our business lines back to society. We work to improve the environment and our surroundings and are actively participating in the development of international cooperation projects to obtain power in isolated areas and in the development of supply infrastructures in developing countries.

Work-home life balance
A correct balance between work and home life for its employees is another basic principle for SILIKEN. In the Human Resources Department we are working on different initiatives aimed at enabling balance, such as the implementation of a Balance Plan to facilitate balance between family life and professional development.
